Unique Sites In Las Vegas Part 2
Here’s the second entry in the Unique Sites in Las Vegas series. You saw the first part here didn’t you? Of course you did.
Did you know about the statue of the former Soviet leader here? You didn’t? Well let me tell ya.
When the Mandalay Bay opened up in 1999 one of the restaurants that opened with the hotel was the Red Square. With a nod to Russia and over 150 different vodkas it became tourist favorite. To accent the theme they added a giant statue of Lenin outside the entrance. At first he had his head, but after some complaints it was removed. (it can be seen inside in a cooler.)
Now, I’m really not sure of the authenticy of the statue. I’ve heard it’s a genuine Russian relic (complete with Russian bird poop!) but it might be a replica made for the restaurant. Either way it’s pretty unique. (and tall)
